Why is my plastisol print bleeding or changing color on polyester garments?
Posted by the SuperPrinters team · 7/26/2026
On polyester or poly-blend garments, the printed ink discolors, taking on the garment's color, often turning pink/off-tone. The bleed frequently appears hours or days after curing, not straight out of the dryer. Most often caused by dye migration: disperse dyes in polyester sublimate at roughly 260-280°f and bleed up into the ink when the print is heated to cure, among other possible causes — a full step-by-step diagnostic and fix follows below.
