Troubleshooting guide
Why are my screens losing tension and prints coming out blurry or shifting?
Posted by the SuperPrinters team · 7/26/2026
Prints look soft, blurry, or smeared, ink shears or drags during the stroke, and image registration wanders across a run even though nothing on the press was changed. A tension meter reads noticeably lower than when the screen was new. Most often caused by natural tension decay from repeated squeegee strokes, off-contact flexing, and flood strokes over the screen's life, among other possible causes — a full step-by-step diagnostic and fix follows below.
