Why are my film labels sticking together, mis-feeding, or clinging to the press from static?

Filmic labels and liner cling to each other or to machine parts, mis-feed or lift at the die and rewind, and attract dust, sometimes giving the operator small shocks. Blocking makes labels hard to separate off the finished roll.
