Troubleshooting guide
Why does my die-cut drift out of register with the printed image partway through the run?
Posted by the SuperPrinters team · 7/26/2026
The die-cut outline sits centered on the print at the start of the job but gradually shifts relative to the printed image as the run continues, often after 20-30 minutes. Labels end up cut off-center or clipping the artwork. Most often caused by tension drift between the print engine and the die station stretching or relaxing the web, especially on thin films, among other possible causes — a full step-by-step diagnostic and fix follows below.
