3M Launches Passive Cooling Roof Film for Fleet and Rail Vehicles
Shared with SuperPrinters · 9/7/2026 · Source: screenprintindia.com
3M has introduced a white, opaque PVC roof film designed to reduce cabin heat in delivery fleets, refrigerated trailers, and passenger rail vehicles without requiring any electrical power. The product claims to reflect over 85% of solar radiation and lower interior temperatures by up to 10°F, though 3M acknowledges results vary by vehicle type, insulation, and conditions. Installers familiar with 3M's vehicle wrap films will recognise the Controltac adhesive and Comply channels, making application compatible with existing wrapping workflows. The film is not printable, carries a five-year MCS Warranty, and requires cleaning at least four times a year to maintain reflectivity.
