Epson Launches Contourjet Brand for Direct-to-Shape 3D Printing System

Shared with SuperPrinters · 9/16/2026 · Source: indianprinterpublisher.com
Epson has introduced Contourjet, a new brand encompassing its direct-to-shape inkjet printing solution that pairs its PrecisionCore S800 printhead with a six-axis industrial robot to print directly onto complex three-dimensional surfaces. The system supports multicolor printing including white and clear varnish inks, and targets markets such as sports equipment, automotive parts, and industrial products. By digitizing traditional analog decoration processes, Contourjet reduces material waste, eliminates the need for printing plates, and enables flexible short-run and custom production. Epson plans to showcase the technology at Printing United Expo 2026 in Las Vegas.
