Anthropic Embeds Invisible Watermarks in All Claude-Generated Content
Shared with SuperPrinters · 8/13/2026 · Source: indianprinterpublisher.com
Anthropic has begun embedding invisible watermarks into text, images and files produced by its Claude AI, initially to comply with the EU AI Act but applied globally across all Claude products. Text watermarks work by subtly influencing word selection, while images use C2PA cryptographic provenance metadata. The move has drawn criticism from writers and developers concerned that AI-assisted editing of human work could lead to it being wrongly flagged as AI-generated, with no opt-out currently available.
