Pacific Rim Softwood Supply Set to Tighten Through 2035, New Report Warns
Shared with SuperPrinters · 7/9/2026 · Source: indianprinterpublisher.com
A new industry outlook, 'Global Softwood Roundwood Supply – Latin America & Asia-Pacific,' forecasts a tightening regional softwood market as Oceania's harvests decline, Japan nears peak production, and China stays reliant on imports despite weaker demand. While Latin America continues as a low-cost, competitive supplier with modest growth expected, the combined effects of shrinking supply in key exporting regions point to rising softwood log prices across the Asia-Pacific over the next decade. This has significant implications for paper, packaging, and wood-based industries dependent on softwood roundwood as a raw material.
