Indian Pulp and Paper Summit Calls for Holistic Resource Management to Stay Competitive
Shared with SuperPrinters · 8/18/2026 · Source: indianprinterpublisher.com
The 11th CII Pulp and Paper Summit in New Delhi brought together mill operators and industry experts to address how water, fiber, energy, and waste must be managed as interconnected systems rather than separate challenges. A key theme was that no universal technological solution exists, as each mill's raw materials, processes, and economics demand tailored approaches. Leaders highlighted practical wins—such as optimized wire cleaning and waste-to-energy conversion—while acknowledging that advanced treatments like ZLD and RO remain cost-prohibitive for many. The overarching message was that sustainability and competitiveness are inseparable, and smarter resource management should be viewed as a profit driver rather than a compliance cost.
