Fujifilm Sells Chinese Plate Business to JRT Plates in Strategic Shift Toward Digital

Fujifilm has divested its Chinese printing plate manufacturing operation, Fujifilm Printing Plate (China), to long-term partner Huangshan Jinruitai Technology (JRT Plates), with the deal signed in late August 2026 and expected to complete by end of 2027. The move is part of Fujifilm's broader strategy to consolidate plate manufacturing in Japan while pivoting its Business Innovation division toward digital, software-driven solutions. JRT Plates will take over sales and manufacturing across most global markets—excluding Japan, the US, Canada, and Mexico—and plans to use the acquisition as a springboard for international expansion.
