The Competition Commission of India has penalized HP India and 21 of its resellers for cartelization in government eMarketplace (GeM) tenders covering personal computing products and printing supplies. Investigations revealed HP India dictated bid prices, manipulated reseller participation, and coordinated cover bids to rig outcomes in its favor. The case came to light after HP India itself filed a leniency application disclosing the cartel, resulting in combined penalties exceeding Rs 142 crore on the company and its partners.
