DTF Printing Grows Up: Production Systems Target Reliability and Automation
Shared with SuperPrinters · 9/2/2026 · Source: screenprintindia.com
Direct-to-film printing is maturing from a craft-level process into a more industrialised one, with suppliers introducing wider printers, automated maintenance, jettable adhesive and smarter workflow software by 2026. Key developments include Epson's 35.4-inch SureColor G6070 with automated nozzle verification, DuPont's inline jettable adhesive that eliminates the traditional powder step, and advanced RIP software such as Fiery Digital Factory 12 with visual gang-sheet building and queue nesting. Despite the automation gains, experts caution that process control remains essential — ink, film, adhesive, curing and press settings must still be validated as a tested system. Shops are advised to run their own wash-resistance and fabric compatibility tests before committing to any new process or consumable change.
